FAQ
Is bandwidth really unlimited?
Section titled “Is bandwidth really unlimited?”Yes. Plans are priced per IP, not by usage.
How different are these from residential proxies?
Section titled “How different are these from residential proxies?”An ISP proxy stays in the city and on the ISP (ASN) you choose for the whole billing period. Residential Proxies gives you a new IP every request (or every 1-30 minutes with sticky sessions) across our full residential pool. ISP proxies are for a consistent location and network; rotating is for scale.
Does the IP address change?
Section titled “Does the IP address change?”The city and the ISP never change while your plan is active. The IP address behind a proxy can refresh over time, exactly like a home broadband connection whose ISP hands out a new address now and then. That is natural residential behaviour, so your traffic looks like a real household instead of a server on an address that never changes.
What ISPs do the IPs come from?
Section titled “What ISPs do the IPs come from?”Real residential ISPs, across 900+ networks (ASNs). The IPs are genuine residential lines, indistinguishable from home broadband from the target site’s perspective.
What locations are available?
Section titled “What locations are available?”ISP proxies are available in 120 countries and 1,800+ cities, from 900+ ISPs (ASNs). After you purchase a plan, you place your IPs on the city + ISP pairs you want, all in one place or spread across several, in as many saves as you need. Search every location, with live availability, on the ISP proxies page. See Placing your IPs for the steps.
What if a location is out of stock?
Section titled “What if a location is out of stock?”Out of stock locations show a Request button in the location picker. It opens a chat with us so we can look into that city and ISP for you.
What protocols are supported?
Section titled “What protocols are supported?”HTTP(S) and SOCKS5, on the same host and port (isp.shifter.io:443) with the same usernames and password.
How do I authenticate?
Section titled “How do I authenticate?”Each IP has its own username, and all usernames on a plan share one password. Authenticate with USERNAME:PASSWORD on every request.
What’s the refund policy?
Section titled “What’s the refund policy?”3-day money-back guarantee on first purchase. Eligible if you contact support within 3 days of the charge.
Still have questions?
Section titled “Still have questions?”Live chat from the panel or email hi@shifter.io.
